In the midst of all this greyness out came something to make us smile, not just the yellow ball in the sky that has been making brief appearances over the past few days but Lucy's very well kept secret of a new festival to take place here in Yorkshire in September. To read all about it pop on over to her blog, I'm sure it will be a very popular event so I've booked my room! Will you be going? I'm already counting the months, weeks and days.
If you have been reading my blog for a while then you will know that Lucy's Attic24 blog was the very first blog I found whilst searching the web to find links to learn to crochet. It is still a favourite place to visit when I need an uplifting happy, colourful place.
My latest project has been some of her Rose Heart Hangers, very quick to make.
This one is decorating a Happy Hanger, made from a Dottie Angel pattern.
The second is designed by Fi of Marmalade Rose, have you seen her felt wall hangings? What an artist!
You can find links to the pattern on Lucy's blog post "Rose Heart Hanger". I made mine mainly in Stylecraft Special DK and stuffed them with beautiful English Lavender.
Coathanger covers were some of the very first items I made when I learned to crochet, followed by wrist warmers (another Lucy pattern) and I've made a few more pairs this Christmas
including some for Annie as part of my Giveaway, you can see those on her New Year post together with this Christmas decoration I made for her.
Something else has been busy creating here, wonder if she's booked her place as a spinner at Yarndale?
Hope you have a lovely crafty weekend. I think I'm going to make more hearts.

p.s. and finally a big grrrrrr to Blogger who lost this post once, typically I hadn't been "scooping" it on to a document so had to start all over again.
p.p.s. if you want to see the photographs in more detail, especially the web, just click on the image.

What is 'scooping it on to a document'?? I never do this as far as I know!
You've made some lovely things Carol and I agree with you about Lucy's Attic, a dose of her rainbow colours lifts the soul. :) The festival sounds good, it's several hours away from where I live so no chance of me going unfortunately but I hope I get to be lucky enough to share a little piece of it on your blog in due course? :)

I'm a huge Lucy fan too! I'm also making a hanging heart right now. I've made the rose and leaves so far and now I need to make the hearts (and hanging loop). I frogged my first attempt at a heart because it looked lumpy but I'm going to try again, maybe with a larger hook this time. I love your hearts as well as your other projects!
I love your hearts they are so cute.
Will pop over to have a look at Lucy's attic.

Hi again Carol! Sorry to hear about your bloggy problems. That sounds a right nuisance having to paste it all into a word document. I had to change to Google Chrome a few months ago because even my 'homepage' wouldn't show up when i was with internet explorer. I hate having to relearn all the uploading, I get so impatient! ;)

I won't be going to Yarndale as I am in the US at that time.Carol, there is always Woolfest in Cockermouth- a well established event at the end of June that gets better every year.
Oh bullfinches - lucky you. I can't see your little heart pic so I will pop back later. x Jo
